Hey people.
I come from /wg/, where I posted the "8-bit mashup" image to see if anyone liked it. It seems that was the case.
For nearly 10 hours and 220 replies I kept fulfilling the requests of unknown Anons, partially because it was about time that /wg/ got some original content, but mainly because it was fun. The thread has now been archived. 4chanarchive.org/brchive/dspl_… (warning, 18+ ads)

At least partially. I won't be able to do any and all requests, so I'm keeping it to sprites of characters/objects, not entire scenes.

I use 3ds max, but any 3d application would do the job just fine. I've explored different methods, but my current favourite is to have a plane with the original sprite, create boxes with rounded edges according to the picture, and then colour them.
